Who Can Benefit From Invisalign Treatment?
Invisalign treatment for teens is ideal for patients of all ages who have mild to moderate orthodontic needs such as overcrowding, small gaps, and overall alignment issues. The ideal patient will need to be responsible enough to wear their aligners for at least 22 hours every day. Teens will also have to keep up with their Invisalign aligners throughout their busy days at school.
How Does It Work?
Invisalign treatment for teens works the same way as all other levels of the Invisalign system and provides the same results and benefits. Invisalign treatment for teens accommodates younger patients by leaving room for their incoming adult teeth if they have not lost all of their baby teeth.
Each Invisalign aligner tray comes with a blue compliance indicator. This small dot on the back of each tray slowly fades as they are worn. Parents can use this to monitor how often their child wears their Invisalign aligners to help keep them accountable.
Invisalign aligners straighten your teeth by applying gradual pressure on specific teeth at different times during your treatment. Individually designed for your teeth, they are worn in one to two-week increments, depending on your orthodontist’s recommendation. As you replace each aligner with the next set, your teeth will move gradually until your ideal smile is achieved. We give patients several sets of aligners at their initial appointment, so trips to our office are minimized.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Charleston Orthodontics. The entire staff there is incredible, especially Ms Meghan and Dr Lee! My son is on the younger side (8) and they are always so patient with him. He enjoys going to his appointments and has loved the entire experience of expander, braces and retainer. I cant not remember her name but she knows who she is… my son and I came for a consultation for my son to get braces AGAIN…. Side note… I have this thing where his name is pronounced incorrectly alot of time and often when I correct others they catch a attitude and get highly offended… I want to say thank you for correcting yourself with pronuncing his name but not only that.. that just set the tone for the appointment…. Everything she did was personable… I didnt feel pressured to hurry into an agreement for his braces, I also had my younger som my babyboy with me and you know that 3 years old can get kind of touchy and like to adventure off sometimes….. she made me feel very comfortable even when he was “being a kid” it was like he could do no wrong and you know it came from a genuine place ….. Im sooooo sorry I can not remember her name to recognize her but she knows who she is and thank you!!! The little things matter more than you think and just from that experience it made me decide even more like yeaaaaaaaa this is the place to be because just from that experience, I know they are going to take care of my oldest especially with his smile!! We love Charleston Orthodontics. The staff is AWESOME. So accommodating and friendly. Made the braces experience for both our kids super smooth. They even knew to give them sunglasses to wear when they came in because their futures are so bright. (Sorry. I’m a dad. I don’t know how to turn the dad jokes off.)
