During the week of July 4th, patriotism is on everyone’s mind as we celebrate the birth of our nation and our independence. We wear red, white and blue, put out our flags, and attend parades and fireworks. It is definitely a good week to be an American.

At Charleston Orthodontic Specialists, we are proud to support Americans, not just this week, but year-round. Which is why we value our relationship with American Orthodontics. They are truly an American success story, and with good reason.

American Orthodontics got its start when its founder, Dan Merkel, was shocked by the cost of braces for his daughter. He acquired two orthodontic machines and set up shop in an old bandage factory in Wisconsin in 1968.

Today American Orthodontics has a state-of-the-art facility in Sheboygan, Wisconsin that employs over 400 people and produces 95% of their products. An additional 200 employees are scattered throughout the U.S. and around the world. Their focus on creating a premium product and maintaining a positive environment for their employees has earned them multiple industry and manufacturing awards and employee tenures of over 30 years. Their commitment to orthodontics is evident in their donation of over $1 million to the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation, which supports orthodontic research and education.

As a U.S.-based company, American Orthodontics truly understands our patients’ orthodontic needs. Our local sales representative goes above and beyond to provide great service and quality products that are affordable, easy to apply and comfortable to wear.

Choosing us for your orthodontic services ensures your smile is truly made in America. Happy Fourth of July everyone!

Was able to get an appointment and speak with Dr. Patel and start my daughters treatment plan. He explained what she needed and gave an estimate on how long he thought it would take. I was able to get a discount and make installments for her braces. They also were able to get her braces placed on the same day we started the contract. The woman who explained the contract was very nice and explained everything for me as well. The place was clean 🧼 and relaxing. Staff was pleasant.Bonus Mrs. Penny was still there and she’s amazing and is always welcoming and smiling ☺️

I cant not remember her name but she knows who she is… my son and I came for a consultation for my son to get braces AGAIN…. Side note… I have this thing where his name is pronounced incorrectly alot of time and often when I correct others they catch a attitude and get highly offended… I want to say thank you for correcting yourself with pronuncing his name but not only that.. that just set the tone for the appointment…. Everything she did was personable… I didnt feel pressured to hurry into an agreement for his braces, I also had my younger som my babyboy with me and you know that 3 years old can get kind of touchy and like to adventure off sometimes….. she made me feel very comfortable even when he was “being a kid” it was like he could do no wrong and you know it came from a genuine place ….. Im sooooo sorry I can not remember her name to recognize her but she knows who she is and thank you!!! The little things matter more than you think and just from that experience it made me decide even more like yeaaaaaaaa this is the place to be because just from that experience, I know they are going to take care of my oldest especially with his smile!! See you guys soon for our next appointment

We love Charleston Orthodontics. The staff is AWESOME. So accommodating and friendly. Made the braces experience for both our kids super smooth. They even knew to give them sunglasses to wear when they came in because their futures are so bright. (Sorry. I’m a dad. I don’t know how to turn the dad jokes off.)
