When all hope seemed lost coming in for an evaluation and needing braces, I couldn't at the time due to needing a deep cleaning (which is very expensive) so I couldn't get the... braces to fill the gap of my missing tooth.... they made a retainer for me with the spot filled in, making it invisible.....
